SHOEFI

SHOEFI is a plug-and-play ECU for the 1989-1995 Taurus SHO. Finally, a drop-in modern replacement for Ford’s 1980s technology. Absolutely no other mods needed to install this ECU, but installing it opens up so many options for upgrades. My goal with this ECU was to allow someone to convert a bone-stock SHO over, and then incrementally upgrade as many of the systems as they desire.
- Batch, bank, or sequential fuel injection. Compatible with any size injector, tested with up to 200lb injectors on a SHO!
- Supports the stock DIS module and wasted spark coilpack
- Wasted spark “dumb” coil-on-plug through the original coilpack
- Wasted, sequential, and multi-spark using “smart” coil-on-plug through an expansion connector. This allows “deletion” of the DIS module and original coilpack!
- Utilizes stock MAF sensor, along with most other voltage-scaled MAF sensors.
- Compatible with a wide range of MAP sensors, perfect for deleting the MAF and running boost
- Spare CANBUS for use with TCUs, external IO expanders, wideband controllers, or instrument clusters.

- Connects to PC or Android through USB-C

- Knock Sensing
- Full control over the secondaries/IMRC and over the cruise control solenoids.
- 2x onboard Electric Throttle Body drivers, allowing creative intake modifications.

Sequential Injection

OEM Sensor Suite
Works with every stock sensor except for the BAP (not needed due to an onboard barometric sensor). This includes the OEM oxygen sensors, the knock sensor, and the MAF

DIS Compatibility
Communicates with the DIS module, allowing complete plug and play compatibility.

IMRC/Secondaries
Fully able to control the butterfly valves in the intake to open the secondary intake runners. Running boost or nitrous and want to adjust the RPM they open at? Now you can set any RPM you want!

Dual Wideband O2 Sensors
Onboard control of up to 2 Bosch LSU 4.9 Wideband Oxygen sensors. No need to fork out hundreds of dollars for standalone controllers, and no need to calibrate with the new 4.9 sensor.

Dual Electric Throttle Bodies
Want to change out the original throttle body for a big electric throttle from a Mustang or similar? Go ahead! Swapping the engine into a tight engine bay and want to run dual throttle bodies, sure! You can even use the ETB drivers to control a electronic wastegate.

Coil on Plug Ignition
Tested with the popular Denso/Yaris coils that fit reasonably well on the SHO, finally you can have fully sequential coil-on-plug ignition. Also compatible with LS1 coils, R35 coils, and so on.

Dual CanBUS
One onboard CANBUS used for the dual wideband controllers and expandable to more devices, and another complete standalone CANBUS that you can use to connect a modern/aftermarket instrument cluster, an IO expander, or CANBUS-controlled transmission.

Expansion Modules
Spare designed for future upgrades. One upgrade in the works is an onboard "dumb" coil ignitor to allow the deletion of the DIS module even if you want to keep the original coilpack and sparkplug wires.

MAF/MAP Air Metering
Compatible with the original MAF sensor for a basic NA tune. If you want to boost your SHO, you can upgrade or delete the MAF and add a MAP sensor. A popular option is the GM 3 Bar MAP, allowing up to 29psi of boost.

Trigger Compatibility
We all know how hard it is to find a crank sensor. SHOEFI works fine with the stock crank and cam sensor, but it also allows the retrofitting of any aftermarket optical or hall sensor based crank/cam sensor.
